Our Story
At the heart of our business is a desire to raise funds for Cancer Research & those impacted by cancer, alongside a passion for exceptional coffee.
Our Coffee For Cancer journey started back in 2022 when cancer hit our family seemingly out of nowhere. My father-in-law, Steve, was a fit, healthy man who was a week into enjoying my mother-in-law’s retirement when he started to notice stomach pains and was consequently losing weight. Doctors referred him for scans, but a few days later Steve ended up in A&E with indescribable pain & jaundice. Tests revealed terminal pancreatic cancer. Steve passed away in November 2022, 1 month and 1 day after diagnosis and just 8 weeks after first noticing symptoms. He was only 61.
Fast forward to April 2023 – we took our annual trip over to Dublin to visit my Aunt Jean & Uncle Pat. We knew Jean had been battling ovarian cancer for some time, but treatment seemed to be going well and although there were still hurdles to overcome, things seemed to be moving in the right direction. Only 4 weeks after our trip, Jean’s health declined quickly, and she passed away in May 2023. She was only 66.
Unfortunately, our family is not the only one who has suffered loss due to cancer. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime and that means that everyone will be impacted by its devastating effects, either directly or indirectly, at some point.
Our Mission
Coffee for Cancer is an attempt to create something positive out of loss. Whether it’s a morning americano or an afternoon latte, we want to turn your cup of coffee into an opportunity to join the fight against cancer.
Our coffee is always ethically sourced, ensuring that every cup not only supports the fight against cancer but also respects the farmers and communities who grow it.
